  • 1 12 teaspoonsbaking powder

  • 1 12 cupsflour
  • 1 12 cupssugar
  • 1 12 tablespoonscornstarch
  • 1cupboiling water

    DIRECTIONS

  • Place fruit such as peaches or berries on the bottom of a 9 x 13 pan.
  • Mix 1 cup sugar, melted butter, baking powder, salt, milk, and flour until smooth.
  • Pour flour mixture over fruit.
  • Mix remaining 1 1/2 cups sugar with cornstarch (I use less sugar).Sprinkle this mixture over the batter.
  • Carefully pour 1 cup boiling water on top.
  • Bake at 375 for 45 50 minutes.
  • Note:Cinnamon can be added to the cornstarch mixture if it goes with the fruit you are using.
