    DIRECTIONS

  • 1. Heat oven to 350°F Beat sugars, butter, shortening, vanilla extract, Orange zest, and egg in large bowl with electric mixer on medium speed until light and fluffy, or mix with spoon. Stir in flour, baking soda, and salt. Stir in cranberries and white chocolate chips. form into walnut sized balls and place 2 inches apart on an ungreased cookie sheets.
  • 2. Bake 10 to 12 minutes or until light brown. Cool 1 or 2 minutes; remove from cookie sheet to wire rack. Cool completly, about 30 minutes. Drizzle with White Chocolate Glaze(optional). Makes about 3 Dozen Cookies.
  • 3. (OPTIONAL) the recipe giving for white chocolate glaze was melting 6 oz white chocolate and shortening in a microwave, you can also melt white compound chocolate(AKA as almond bark) or if you are feeling fancy make white chocolate ganache. Simmer 1 cup of heavy cream in a sauce pan. Take off heat and pour over 1 cup of white chocolate chips and fold inches Allow the mixture to cool and then drizzle over the cookies.
