From today, July 28, Amazon Prime customers will be able to get free two-hour delivery slots on orders of £40 and more, with some receiving their orders on the same day. Thousands of items are available via Amazon Fresh, including brands such as Morrisons, Hovis, Nestle and Pepsi. The delivery service comes as people have had to rely heavily on online food deliveries throughout the coronavirus pandemic, with a number of people being forced to shield at home. But, where is the delivery service being rolled out?
Where is Amazon Fresh available in the UK?
Amazon Fresh’s free delivery for Prime members is currently available in Greater London only, and serves around 300 postcodes.
You can find out if your postcode is including by visiting the Amazon Fresh locator and entering your postcode here.
Free delivery is only available on two-hour delivery slots with orders of more than £40.
If you order less than the minimum value, you will have to pay an extra £3.99 for delivery, but there is still a minimum order of £15.
You will also need to pay the £3.99 delivery fee if you want your order within a one-hour delivery slot.
Deliveries will be offered up until midnight, with Amazon saying that customers in the south-east of the capital will be able to get their groceries on the same day, provided they order by 9pm.
The Amazon Fresh delivery service is included with Prime memberships.
Unfortunately, for now you can only take advantage of the offer if you live in one of the provided postcodes.
However, the company has said it is looking at rolling out the service on a wider basis to other cities across the uk.
Reportedly, Birmingham, Edinburgh and Manchester are next on Amazon Fresh’s list.
Amazon Fresh UK’s country manager Russell Jones said sales had been “particularly strong” following the lockdown.
He also stressed that the move to roll out Amazon Fresh to Prime members has been in the pipeline long before the lockdown began.

Mr Jones said: “Prime members love the convenience of grocery delivery at home, which is why we’ve made Amazon Fresh a free benefit of Prime.
“Grocery delivery is one of the fastest-growing businesses at Amazon. We will keep improving the grocery shopping experience so by the end of the year, millions of Prime members across the UK will have access to fast, free delivery of groceries.”
Last month, Bradford-bases supermarket chain Morrions said it had more than doubled the number of UK stores serving Amazon Prime customers to 40.
The news comes after figures showed online shopping now accounts for £3 of every £10 spent in the UK – up from £2 pre-pandemic.
A similar service has already been rolled out by Amazon in the United States, with Fresh deliveries added as part of the Amazon Prime package at no extra cost.
Amazon’s Vice President of grocery delivery Stephenie Landry said at the time that the company expects the service to be “loved” by customers.
Ms Landy said: “Grocery delivery is one of the fastest growing businesses at Amazon, and we think this will be one of the most-loved Prime benefits.”
