The Harris Poll and Instacart teamed up this year to survey Americans on their Turkey Day food traditions and opinions.

Most Americans secretly dislike a classic Thanksgiving food, per the poll, but eat it anyway. The top offender? Canned cranberry sauce.

A whopping 29 percent of people say that canned cranberry sauce is just not their jam.

This news is … not shocking. While we don’t have any strong opinions on the gelatinous holiday staple, we can totally see how some people might find it undesirable.

Here’s where things get weird: Nearly half of Americans (46 percent) say the canned stuff is “disgusting,” but they’re still eating the heck out of it. Instacart customers bought 50 percent more canned cranberry sauce than fresh cranberries last year.

But why?!

Making cranberry sauce from scratch just isn’t that hard, you guys. If you find the store-bought side so disturbing, stop subjecting yourself to it! Here are 15 super easy cranberry sauce recipes to get you started.

If that’s still too much work, for the love of God, stop serving the sauce in the shape of the tin can it comes in.

Dear 31 percent of people who apparently put forth no effort and still slander the sauce: Nobody asked you to do that. Just mash it up with a fork and call it a day.

In case you’re curious, here are some more Thanksgiving Day food facts from the survey:

  • More than half of Americans would rather host Thanksgiving dinner so they can make the dishes they like.
  • But some millennials think it’s too much pressure. In fact, 40 percent of people polled between ages 23 and 38 would rather give up sex for a month than be responsible for cooking Thanksgiving dinner.
  • A vast majority of Americans (94 percent) eat pie on Turkey Day. Though 21 percent of people secretly hate it, pumpkin pie tops the list of favorite pies to eat on Thanksgiving.
