Marks and Spencer has regularly been updating services as the coronavirus crisis continues. The retailer has launched a number of food boxes that are available for delivery. It has now introduced three takeaway boxes so Britons can enjoy their favourite curries at home.
- Marks and Spencer to reopen stores next week with huge sale
During the coronavirus lockdown, the government asked all restaurants in the UK to temporarily close.
Although restaurants could stay open for takeaways, many closed entirely.
This caused Britons to turn to supermarkets for more of their food needs.
For those missing a takeaway, M&S has launched new boxes that can be picked up in food hall stores.
The Ultimate Night In takeaway boxes are available for £10 and serves two people.
What do you get?
The boxes are available in Indian, Thai or Chinese cuisines and are packed with takeaway classics including curries, noodles and rice.
Giving sample contents of the Thai box, M&S said shoppers will get a Chicken Penang Curry, Fragrant Beef Noodles, Green Thai Style Chicken Curry with Sticky Jasmine Rice and Mini Thai Style Pork & Vegetable Spring Rolls.
Not only can shoppers get food boxes in stores, the retailer has launched a selection of others available to order online.
The boxes available have price tags ranging from £15 to £45 and suit different dietary requirements.
These include a Seasonal Fruit Box, the Vegetable & Salad Food Box, and the Traditional Meals Food Box.
Online customers looking for a takeaway can pick up the Indian Takeaway Big Night In Food Box.
- Morrisons makes huge change to contents of essential food box
The box serves eight people and costs £35 with nominated day delivery.
The retailer has also brought back its essential food boxes that recently sold out.
These are packed full of essential groceries and are available in the standard or vegetarian pack.
Describing the standard box, the M&S website said: “Our new and improved essentials box is filled with store cupboard essentials, including tinned fish and meat, rice, pasta and more.
“Plus, there’s Percy Pig treats and chocolate digestives for the whole family to enjoy.”
Marks and Spencer also updated the contents to include more products to make meals.
They have been given a new low price with the standard box on sale for £28, was £35, and the vegetarian box priced at £23, was £30.
