Restaurants in the UK temporarily closed earlier this year to help the coronavirus crisis.

While they could stay open for takeaway, Nando’s temporarily closed branches in March.

Over the last month, they have been gradually reopening restaurants for takeaways with new social distancing measures.

However, budding chefs can now make their favourite meals at home with a new recipe box.

What do you get?

Nando’s has partnered up with recipe box brand Mindful Chef to help customers recreate favourite dishes at home.

Between June 14 and 27, PERi-PERi fans will be able to order the limited edition food box.

Two chicken meals will be available and the boxes will include ingredients to make a main and sides.

Customers can choose from PERi-PERi butterfly chicken, chips and fino slaw and a quarter chicken legs, macho peas and sweet mash.

Each box has portioned ingredients and a bottle of Nando’s Medium PERi-PERi sauce.

The boxes will be available to order for the two week period and start at £6 per person.

Mindful Chef also offers a range of recipe boxes including one person, two person and family boxes with different dietary requirements options.

Giles Humphries, co-founder of Mindful Chef, said: “We have seen a massive 400 percent increase in demand for our recipe box service in the last two months.

“Experimenting with new ingredients and recipes has been a big trend during lockdown.

“So it seemed like the perfect time to work with one of the UK’s most loved restaurants and give the UK a chance to cook up some of Nando’s famous PERi-PERi dishes at home.”

PERi-PERi fans who want to leave the cooking to someone else can now order from one of 213 branches that have now reopened.

Restaurants will be open for customers to get delivery and takeaway from a limited menu.

Branches have opened across the UK in locations including London, Birmingham, Glasgow, Liverpool and Cardiff.

Customers can check to see if their local branch is operating on the Nando’s website.

New social distancing measures have been put into place to protect staff and customers.
