Quality Street brings back popular flavour after more than 20 years

Nestle has revealed it will be bringing back the formerly discontinued coffee creme flavour ahead of Christmas.

However, the treat won’t be found in Quality Street tubs and will only be available inside the Quality Street festive cracker and advent calendar.

The festive cracker will be on sale for £6 and the advent calendar will be available for £10.

Both products will be available from September 20 and can be purchased from Waitrose and John Lewis.

For those who don’t know, coffee creme is a dark chocolate sweet that has a coffee fondant inside.

The delicious treat comes in a brown wrapper and looks very similar to the strawberry creme.

Earlier today, Quality Street took to social media to share the news with fans.

The post reads: “YOU ASKED, WE LISTENED…we’re bringing back COFFEE CREME as a limited edition for Christmas 2023!

“Available in selected @JohnLewisRetail and @waitrose stores later this month.

“Keep your eyes peeled over the coming weeks for details on how to get your hands on it.”

While coffee creme hasn’t featured in a Quality Street tub since the nineties, the flavour certainly hasn’t been forgotten.

In fact, social media users were ecstatic about the return of the beloved chocolate flavour.

Julie Smith commented on the post: “So happy about this, thank you!”

Alison Baker replied: “Can’t wait, will be scouring @JohnLewisRetail and @waitrose.”

Ken Anderson posted: “Great News. Quality Street is bringing back Coffee Cream flavour. That’ll Dee…I hear you think.”

Diana McCarthy opined: “At last, some good news! Quality Street is bringing back the coffee creme.”

Jac Graham replied: “My FAVE! These will be back on my shopping list!”

However, not everyone was happy about the coffee creme making a comeback.

Steve Ellwood wrote: “They were always the ones left in the tin when I was a child.” Natalie said: “So disappointed this isn’t mint.”

Quality Street lovers will also be able to create their own personalised boxes at John Lewis this year during the festive season.

The retailer will be bringing back its pick ’n’ mix stands in some of their stores. The flavours will include coffee creme and green triangles.
