This Limited-Edition Spicy Olive Oil Is Basically Pizza’s Best Friend

Hello, I have a very exciting announcement to make! One of our favorite olive oil companies, Brightland, just released a limited-edition olive oil today and it is supremely delicious and you’re going to want to drizzle it on everything. Get your pizza ready, because this olive oil is a perfect match for cheese, bread, sauce, and, well, whatever else you decide to throw on your pie.

The new olive oil is called “Ador” and it’s made with hand-picked heirloom Frantoio olives from the central coast of California. The oil is blended with red chili peppers, jalapeño peppers, chipotle peppers, and paprika and it has just the right amount of heat — it’s not too spicy, but there’s a nice lingering kick.

“When we asked the Brightland community what they wanted, spicy olive oil was at the top of the list, so we knew we had to create one,” Aishwarya Iyer, the founder of Brightland explains. “I was very inspired by the look, feel, and vibe of summer heat and thought it would be wonderful to debut a spicy oil that blended jalapeño and chipotle to create an extra kick.”

Outside of being known for their high-quality olive oil, Brightland is also recognized for their strong design. The unique label for the Ardor olive oil was created by Marleigh Culver in New York. “Marleigh was deeply inspired by her Thai heritage and chilis in Thailand and seamlessly tied the colors and mood together,” Aishwarya explains.

Personally, I’m already trying to figure out what to use my bottle for after I finish the olive oil. A makeshift candle? A vase? A pencil holder for just like, one supremely long pencil? Please weigh in.

Aishwarya says this spicy olive oil would be great drizzled on salads, dips, gelato, noodles, and pizza (duh). While it’s probably best savored as a condiment rather than something to cook with, I couldn’t help myself and also ended up making an olive oil fried egg with the stuff and boy was it good. It added just a touch of heat and made my breakfast feel extra luxurious.
