Domino’s Is Making Pizzas That Taste Like Tacos and Burgers

At this point, 2020 has surely proven that pizza is one of the best delivery foods out there. The only problem is that eating pizza all the time eventually starts to get a little old. After all, there are only so many combinations of sauce and toppings we can take, especially in the midst of a well-publicized pepperoni shortage. It’s enough to make even the most dedicated pizza freaks opt for something different.

Luckily, Domino’s has devised a way to make eating their pizza actually feel like you’re consuming a completely different form of fast food instead. Specifically, they’ve introduced a chicken taco pizza and a cheeseburger pizza that essentially transforms your pizza party into a cookout or a Taco Tuesday.

The hope is that if pizza is somehow a divided and contentious choice in a given household, everyone can still get what they want.

“We're excited to add even more options to our lineup of delicious specialty pizzas," Domino’s CMO Art D'Elia said in a press release. "Now friends and family who are craving a taco or cheeseburger on pizza night won't be disappointed. Domino's new taco and cheeseburger pizzas are sure to satisfy everyone."

If you want Dominos’ take on a taco, that comes with grilled chicken, onion, peppers, tomatoes, “taco seasoning”, plus shredded cheddar and provolone cheese (because it obviously has to be at least a little weirder than your average taco.

Conversely, the cheeseburger pizza is pretty faithful to the staple of backyard barbecues, but definitely presents an interesting twist on pizza. That mens piling beef, onions, tomatoes, provolone, cheddar, and American cheese on a pie, but the real kicker is the introduction of a “ketchup-mustard sauce” that will definitely taste a little bit different than your average tomato sauce.

Both of these specialty pizzas will sell for $11.99, and should be widely available by your Labor Day cookout and the Taco Tuesday that immediately follows it. Whether or not these unorthodox takes on pizza will have you swearing off actual tacos and burgers remains to be seen.
