Post Malone Started A World Beer Pong League, So Sign Me Up

Update, November 19, 2020: Back in July, there was evidence that Post Malone and his team were working on a formal beer pong league after filing a trademark for the name “World Pong League.” There wasn’t much more information at the time, but Posty dropped a trailer on his Instagram account today that proves people who believed there were clues were onto something—Post Malone has officially started a pong league.

The “World Pong League” series will be available to stream via Facebook Messenger’s new platform and the first episode is already available. New episodes will come out on the platform every Wednesday and Friday.
Now we know Post himself takes his beer pong very seriously, but from the trailer, it appears he’ll be challenging some star-studded guests to compete against him. Celebs like Shay Mitchell, Machine Gun Kelly, Diplo, Halsey, and Jason Derulo will all appear to play pong at some point during the first season and there’s a glimpse of some of their beer pong shots in the trailer.
“There’s a lot of great people playing on the show,” he said in the trailer. “They’re all gonna get their ass whopped either way.”
Original Post, July 27, 2020: Looks like our boy Post Malone is up to some more shenanigans. According to files obtained by TMZ, Post and his team have filed a trademark for the name “World Pong League” and are looking to create a legitimate competitive league of beer pong players.
The paperwork apparently explains that this name will be used to brand official tournaments, competitions, events, and exhibitions. It will also be used for merch, of course, that is rumored to include glassware, plastic clips, game tables, cup racks, pong balls, and casual sportswear.
Although a project such as this one is out of the ordinary from Post’s typical musical work, it’s no surprise considering his very public love for Bud Light beer and beer pong. Back in March, he helped host a star-studded virtual beer pong tournament that included guests like Machine Gun Kelly and Rob Gronkowski. The tournament was streamed online and all proceeds were donated to coronavirus relief efforts.
He even has a Kansas City Chiefs tattoo that he got after losing a game of beer pong to Chiefs player Patrick Mahomes. So, yeah, it’s safe to say he’s a seasoned beer pong player. The plans for this World Pong League are only in very preliminary stages, so there isn’t much information out there about what’s planned, a timeline for this project, or anything else. But as long as it has Post Malone’s name on it, I’m sure it will be well worth the wait.
