Special K’s New Caramel Latte Pastry Bars Have As Much Caffeine In Them As Half A Cup Of Coffee

Special K has new pastry crisps that taste like a caramel latte, and the best part is that they actually have caffeine in them. Whether you eat them with your coffee or alone, they’ll help give you the energetic boost you need to get through the day.
The Special K Caramel Latte Pastry Crisps are made of a gooey caramel and espresso inside with a crunchy exterior and what looks like a flavored frosting drizzle on top. Each bar has the same amount of caffeine as half a cup of coffee. If you want to get into the deets, a six-ounce cup of brewed coffee has 71 milligrams of caffeine. These bars contain 36 milligrams of caffeine per serving (aka two bars), according to a press release. Oh, and for those who are curious, each serving is only 100 calories. That’s lower than your big-name coffee chains’ caramel lattes.
The bars come in boxes that contain a total of 12 crisps. Inside of the boxes, you’ll find six individually wrapped packages with two bars per pouch. The boxes are already available in grocery stores nationwide for a suggested retail price of $3.49.
Anything even remotely coffee-flavored is tempting, but the fact that these caramel latte bars offer a caffeine jolt makes them even better. I, for one, would choose to enjoy them with a regular latte (or two) in hand and maybe some coffee cake to top it all off. Why not, right?
