Eddie Hall: Deadlift athlete maintains his six stone weight loss by avoiding this one food

He won the World’s Strongest Man 2017 competition and scooped a 2016 world record as a deadlift holder, lifting 500kg under strongman rules. But now, Eddie Hall has retired from competing in the sport professionally. Since announcing he would be moving away from the strongman competitions, the 31-year-old lost a huge amount of weight. Overhauling his diet plan and fitness regime, the athlete’s new lifestyle saw him lose an astounding six stone.

He previously weighed in at 32 stone.

And, Eddie was well aware that he had been putting his health at risk.

“I knew that I was pushing the boundaries,” he exclusively told Express.co.uk.

“I knew that I was basically risking my life with all the health factors – it’s very unhealthy being that big.”

In an exclusive interview, Eddie, who hails from Stroke-on-Trent, explained he had cut out a lot of carbohydrates in order to slim.

His new diet plan saw him instead focus on eating protein and fats.

Exercise also played a huge role – with Eddie working several boxing sessions and a land-based work out into his training schedule each week.

And, he also went swimming in a bid to beat the bulge.

At 26 stone, now, Eddie has explained that he’s content with his weight and is now looking to maintain his slimming results.

In the third part of an exclusive interview with Express.co.uk, Eddie revealed: “I’m happy at this body weight.

“I’m currently at 26 stone, about 165 kilos, and I feel really good at this weight.

170.1kg to 163.8kg — 16 weeks!!!! Iv dropped 6kg of fat and actually put on 1/4kg of muscle all in 16 weeks. This is a realistic approach to dieting, iv pretty much eaten the same foods and just swapping a few of those puddings for healthy yoghurts. I swapped my workout drink from standard BCAAs to a product called Oblivion ☄️ it’s is a pure protein drink that’s easily absorbed during training. It’s been tough as iv been travelling a lot and doing endless hours of work but I’ve tried my best and done everything I can to change my life for the better. I’m feeling great and intend on staying above 160kg and getting even leaner. I’m on an journey and I encourage you to join me… grab a tub of oblivion from @myoband.teamsnf And I wanna see your transformations in 16 weeks time that betters mine….. #Transformation #Beast #SinkOrSwim #BackItUP Big Love The Beast

So, how will he continue staying in the shape he’s currently at?

It seems he’ll continue limiting his carbohydrate intake and ensuring he doesn’t falter when it comes to his new training routine.
