Lenny Henry’s appearance has changed over the years and the actor has impressed fans with his weight loss. But how did he lose so much weight and has managed to maintain a slim frame?

Lenny Henry has opened up about his weight loss in the past, sharing with his fans how he managed to lose an impressive three stone.

His “secret” was to make one simple change in his diet.

He increased his vegetable intake and also focused on his fitness regime.

Interestingly, the actor ate only one vegetable in order to lose weight.

He said: “What’s my secret?

“Well, it’s eating broccoli and not much else.

“It has worked.”

In an interview with The Mirror in 2018, Lenny added: “I’ve also been running a lot.”

The comedian first decided to lose weight back in 2014 because of his health.

“I’m a bit diabetic,” he explained.

“So I was put on a very strict diet.

“I’ve lost between two and a half and three stone.

“I was big.”

As well as eating broccoli, Lenny revealed he avoided sugar and reduced his alcohol intake.

He said: “You’ve got to eat no sugar and drink hardly any alcohol.

“All the stuff you like.

“You can’t Hobnob your way through the day,” the comedian added.

“It’s lots of greens, lots of juice, and lots of walking.

“Swimming is good.”

Many experts have recommended walking and swimming to lose weight as they can create a calorie deficit.

This is when the body burns more calories than it consumes during the day – which is one of the most effective ways to shed the pounds.
