Princess Beatrice weight loss: Royal avoided ‘trauma’ with ‘impressive high-fibre diet’

Princess Beatrice and Edoardo Mapelli Mozzi married on July 17, 2020, in a small service, which was highly impacted by coronavirus restrictions at the time. Just over a year later, the royal couple welcomed their first daughter, Sienna Elizabeth Mapelli Mozzi, on September 18. The Princess was then photographed on October 23, attending a wedding with her husband as well as her sister, Princess Eugenie.

The wedding of Prince Philippos of Greece and Nina Flohr took place at the Metropolitan Cathedral of Athens.

Princess Beatrice looked phenomenal in the photographs released of the wedding, and royal fans could not believe her impressive baby weight loss.

Dr Charlotte Norton, Medical Director at The Slimming Clinic, spoke exclusively with on how Princess Beatrice regained her body after giving birth to Sienna.

Dr Charlotte explained: “I’m sure there would have been a lot of factors which contributed to Princess Beatrice’s impressive post-baby weight loss.

“One of the things that aids with weight loss significantly is breastfeeding.

“While the amount of weight that can be lost via breastfeeding varies person to person, typically an individual could look at burning between 500 and 700 calories per day.

“In order to achieve sustainable weight loss, it is likely the Princess would have had a high-fibre diet consisting of foods such as avocados, berries, beans, broccoli and more.

“Fibre is great for making you feel fuller for longer, which as a result, curbs snacking throughout the day.

“In addition to this, stocking up healthy proteins such as lean meats, eggs and dairy would have boosted metabolism and decreased appetite which would have aided in weight loss.

“Coupling a healthy and nutritious diet with exercise would have also contributed to her weight loss; however this would, of course, depend on the healthcare advice provided post-pregnancy.”

As well as dieting, it is likely Princess Beatrice engaged with exercise too.

Dr Charlotte continued: “I think it is likely Princess Beatrice would have focussed on dieting and exercise prior to having a baby and perhaps continued this on throughout pregnancy with professional guidance and advice.

“It is quite normal for those who exercise regularly pre-pregnancy to continue this throughout pregnancy, which can of course aid in post-pregnancy weight loss.

“That being said, exercise post-pregnancy would largely depend on the type of pregnancy that Princess Beatrice experienced.

“While it is normal to begin exercising soon after giving birth, depending on the trauma to the body, it may differ from person to person.

“I imagine that providing Princess Beatrice’s birth was healthy, then she would have certainly implemented some cardio and resistance training to aid her in losing weight.”

Women’s health and fitness coach, Beth Davies, elaborated on Princess Beatrice’s exercise routine to lose her post-pregnancy weight.

She said: “Princess Beatrice has been seen out walking with her husband and new baby daughter.

“Walking is a great exercise for new mums because it’s low impact, low stress and often soothing for the baby too.

“Women return to pre-pregnancy weight at different rates.

“As a member of the Royal Family, it’s likely Princess Beatrice has access to a high level of support.

“Possibly someone to ensure she is eating healthily and providing time for her to do some light exercise following birth.”
