Sue Cleaver drops four dress sizes in incredible weight loss transform

Sue Cleaver – also known as Coronation Street’s Eileen Grimshaw – has lost a lot of weight after cutting out some specific foods.

Sue took part in 2022’s I’m a Celebrity…Get Me Out of Here! And spent two weeks in the jungle.

The actress revealed that she lost some weight competing in the show but also said that she prefers not to talk about weight loss.

In conversation with Prima, Sue explained why she steers clear of this particular topic.

She said: “Life is hard enough! There’s always going to be outside pressure and unfair expectations placed on women, but I refuse to get pulled into it.

“That’s why I’ll never promote anything weight-related, and it’s why I’d always rather compliment somebody on their smile or their outfit, rather than their weight.”

Sue encouraged people to just “let women be women” – as it’s hard enough as it is.

However, for those looking to emulate Sue’s healthy weight loss, ditching junk food for a nutritious diet is a good way to go.

Sue suffers from type two diabetes, so maintaining a healthy weight is key to her health.

The official NHS website advises that for those with type two diabetes, losing weight – if they are overweight – will make it easier for their bodies to lower their blood sugar levels.

In turn, losing weight can improve blood pressure and cholesterol for those with these conditions.

Diabetes UK urges people with type two diabetes to eat from the main food groups, fruit and vegetables, starchy foods, protein, dairy and alternatives, and oils and spreads.

When it comes to starch, the website recommended opting for wholegrain options of bread, rice and pasta, in addition to baked sweet potato, boiled cassava and chapatti.

Foods high in fat, salt and sugar are not recommended as part of a healthy diet for those with type two diabetes, so Sue may have ditched these as part of her new lifestyle.

It has been reported that the star dropped four dress sizes following the Mediterranean diet, rich in fruit, veg, nuts, seeds, legumes, potatoes, whole grains, herbs, spices, fish, seafood, and extra virgin olive oil.

Dieters can also consume poultry, eggs, cheese and yoghurt in moderation, with read meat, sugary food and drinks, processed foods and refined grains to be avoided for the most part.

“She’s always been a self-confessed foodie, who admitted that over-indulgence was her Achilles Heel. Now, everything has changed.”

The source claimed that in her mid-50s it became a “no brainer” for Sue to cut down on particular foods.
