Weight loss is something many people want to achieve, but without the right recommendations, only a few succeed at it. Dr Michael Mosley has revealed his ultimate diet hack to lose weight.
Michael Mosley explained that many people are not aware that eating eggs for breakfast helps losing weight.
“Boiled, poached, scrambled or as an omelette.
“They’ll keep you feeling fuller for longer compared with cereal or toast.
“Delicious with greens and Parmesan or smoked salmon and a sprinkle of chilli,” he said.
Eating food containing protein – like eggs – is the base of a Mediterranean diet, which is considered one of the most effective food plans to stay fit and healthy.
Foods with plenty of protein include vegetables, fruits, legumes, nuts, beans, cereals, or fish.
Dr Mosley said: “A low carb Mediterranean diet has unique power not just to restore your body’s ability to reach its ideal weight and stay there, but also to cut your risk of serious disease.
“It doesn’t come from a place of restriction but rather it’s about eating more of the right foods.”
He continued: “Not only will these foods keep you feeling full, but they also offer important nutrients and health benefits, and taste delicious.”
Dr Mosley also recommended high-intensity exercises as the most effective to lose weight quickly.
“Not only is it a highly effective way to get fit, it’s also unbelievably quick, which means there’s no excuse not to do it.
“I recommend just 10 minutes on a static bike three times a week, plus quick strengthening exercises which don’t require special equipment.”
He said: “If you don’t have an exercise bike you can try pedalling on your road bike furiously up a hill, running up the stairs, or doing short sprints when out on a run.
“Or just pick up your walking pace until you are breathing hard.
“The main thing is that these bursts should be brief (30 seconds maximum when it comes to the stairs, or running), but hard enough to get your heart rate up.”
During his podcast series Just One Thing, the doctor also revealed another tip to lose weight: eating fermented foods.
Fermented foods, which include sauerkraut, kimchi and kefir, are made by the controlled growth of beneficial microorganisms.
“I do it!” he said.
“I make my own sauerkraut and kimchi and we also make kombucha,” Dr Mosley explained.
Other benefits of fermented foods are a lower risk of diabetes and metabolic syndrome, better digestive health and immune system.
