Zara Tindall follows ‘quick’ routine ‘before children wake up’

The late Queen’s granddaughter is known to have a slim physique despite having three children with Mike Tindall. Zara is a former Olympian equestrian but she now follows a healthy diet plan and exercise routine to maintain her weight and stay in good shape at age 41.

Zara previously revealed that she avoids two foods at all costs: carbohydrates and sugar.

Her healthy and balanced diet includes Greek yoghurt with honey for breakfast every morning, followed by soup and a sandwich or eggs and toast for lunch.

She previously said: “Lunch is quick and simple, like soup and a sandwich or eggs and toast.

“I don’t diet but I try to eat well and not to eat too many carbohydrates or sugary things,” Zara told the Sunday Times Magazine.

Sarah Campus, the founder of LDN MUMS FITNESS, commented on the diet the royal might follow on a daily basis.

The expert claimed: “Zara follows two very simple food rules to stay on track. Namely, limiting carbohydrates and sugar as much as possible.

“She doesn’t diet but tries to eat well and not to eat too many carbohydrates or sugary things. A typical plate of hers is chock full of fresh and wholesome foods that are laden with protein, vitamins and nutrients.

“Zara tends to start the day at 7am with a simple breakfast of Greek yoghurt and honey [she previously shared].

“This would carry her through to lunchtime, where she’d enjoy a fuss-free ‘simple’ meal, like soup and a sandwich or eggs and toast.

“Healthy home-cooked meals are Zara’s preference at dinner time. Her husband Mike Tindall confirmed that Zara is ‘an awesome cook’, and ‘does all the cooking in the house’.”

The royal reportedly works out in her gym at Gatcombe Park, where the family reside, and uses her exercise bike for a medium-intensity cardio workout in the mornings.

Sarah explained: “As an athlete and former Olympic silver medallist, Zara, has always been in tune with what it takes to get her body into peak physical condition.

“Even now, Zara appears to have maintained many of those foundational habits formed during her years as a competitive athlete.”

The expert revealed Zara and Mike “have an extensive gym installed in their estate home”.

“Zara likes to squeeze in a quick workout in their home gym before her children wake up – with her preference being to jump on an exercise bike for a spin,” she said.

Michelle Baynham, founder of Mother Fit, previously told that it is likely Zara still works out today, despite no longer being a professional athlete.

The expert explained: “Zara will no doubt combine cardio with strength training, alongside her passion which is riding, giving her a full-body workout.

“Horse riding provides the combination of a cardiovascular workout with a rewarding mental challenge, mixing balance with hand-eye coordination helping to improve reflexes, tone the body and in particular tone the core muscles and your legs.”

Talking about dinners at home, Mike Tindall previously praised Zara’s cooking skills saying: “Zara can look in the fridge and plan what to eat but that’s just not my skillset.”

He added that in the evening Zara might make “a meal for herself and the kids while I had another of my ‘ready’ meals – seabream with couscous”.
