All-Purpose Meat Sauce

INGREDIENTS

  • 1lbground beef
  • 2garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 (15 ounce) can tomato sauce
  • 1 (10 3/4ounce) can condensed tomato soup, undiluted
  • 14 cup grated parmesan cheese
  • 1tablespoonWorcestershire sauce
  • 1 12 teaspoonsdried oregano
  • 1teaspoondried basil
  • 12 teaspoonsugar
  • 12 teaspoonsalt
  • 12 teaspoondried parsley flakes
  • 14 teaspooncrushed red pepper flakes
  • 18 teaspoondried thyme (orignal recipe had a pinch of tarragon and ground cinnamon, not for us)
  • fresh ground black pepper, to taste(or hot sauce, cayenne pepper)

    DIRECTIONS

  • In a large skillet or Dutch oven, cook the beef and garlic until beef is browned; drain.
  • Stir in all remaining ingredients.
  • Simmer, uncovered, for 30 minutes or until sauce is as thick as desired, stirring occasionally. Taste and adjust seasoning with salt and pepper.
