Chocolate Chip Poundcake

Original recipe belonged to Beth Sellers.She gave us the recipe in 1988.I have probably made this recipe at least 4x every year since 1988.It is a crowd favorite – especially if the crowd contains a Finley.


  1. Butter Recipe Cake Mix (1 Box)
  2. Instant Vanilla Pudding (1 Small Box)
  3. Vegetable Oil (1 Cup)
  4. Milk (1 Cup)
  5. Eggs (4 Large)
  6. Semi-sweet Chocolate Chips (12 oz.)
  7. German Sweet Chocolate (1 Bar), grated


  1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees.

  2. Prepare bundt pan with shortening and flour.

  3. Combine cake mix, pudding mix, vegetable oil, milk and eggs. Mix thoroughly.

  4. Add chocolate chips and grated German chocolate. Mix completely.

  5. Pour cake batter into prepared bundt pan.

  6. Bake @ 350 degrees for 55 minutes or until golden brown and springs to touch.

  7. Let cool in bundt pan for 10 minutes. Then turn onto cake platter.

  8. Optional icing: Cover with a light chocolate glaze or sprinkle with powdered sugar.
