Mac and cheese

I make A LOT of Mac and cheese. I make all kinds of it. This is the crowd pleaser. Kids and adults alike will clean this pan and it comes together very quickly.


  1. 1.5 lbs macaroni
  2. 1 lb cheddar cheese shredded, I shred my own
  3. 1 can evaporated milk
  4. 1/2-1 stick butter or margarine
  5. 2 tbsp flour
  6. 1 tsp salt
  7. 1/2 tsp onion powder


  1. Boil your macaroni in salted water until done to your liking. Drain.

  2. In a medium saucepan, over medium heat, melt the butter and add the flour. Stir to cook out the flour taste then add the evaporated milk and seasonings. Stir constantly til thick and bubbling. Turn off heat and add at least half the shredded cheese. Stir til melted and thick.

  3. Pour cheese sauce over noodles and combine. Pour in a prepared pan and smooth out. Add remaining cheese over the top and cover with foil. Put in a preheated 400 degree oven to melt cheese, about 10 minutes.
