From eggnog to mulled wine, the culprit contained in every alcoholic beverage is ethanol.

Ethanol is the alcohol in drinks, which makes you pay the toll for your festive fun.
Alcohol is a toxic chemical, which is also a diuretic, taking the water from your body and leaving you dehydrated.

While greasy breakfast or an ice-cold glass of coke are usually the first port of call when you wake up the next day, Jamie Oliver swears by one cheap ingredient that also “works”.
All you need is a teaspoon and a certain spice readily available in grocery stores.
Oliver told Red: “If your hangover is 110 percent bad, there is this option of a cure, taught to me by an Indian guru.

“You just grab a teaspoon of cumin and you neck it. It’ll settle your tummy. It’s quite repulsive, but it works.”
The natural remedy can act as a digestive aid, which helps to calm your stomach after a difficult night.
But if downing a teaspoon of cumin doesn’t sound too appealing, the chef also recommended the following foods:
- Huevos rancheros
- Kedgeree
- Guinness
- A full English.
